Woman falsely claiming blindness cited for fraud Over 500,000 euros in benefits paid over 40 years

A 60-year-old woman claiming to be legally blind was cited by police for aggravated fraud on Friday when she was filmed leading a completely normal life without assistance for vision impairment.

The resident of Lido di Venezia, near the town of Venice, received a monthly disability pension for 40 years, costing the state 500,000 euros.
