Household savings drop to 17-year low Families set aside 12% of income

Household saving in Italy has dropped to its lowest level since 1995, national statistics agency Istat said Thursday. In 2011 families set aside 12% of household income, down 0.7% on the year. Domestic buying power dropped in the same period by 0.5%.
