biological cycle
The four Muscovy and five ages in which it can be considered divided the larval life of the silkworm (Bombyx mori) have about the distribution and duration following:
1 age: takes about 5 days and ends with the first moult;
2nd age: lasts 4 days and ends with the second moult;
3rd age: lasts 5 days and ends with the third decantation;
4th age: lasts 6 days and ends with the fourth moult;
5th age: takes 8-10 days and goes from the fourth moult to the formation of the cocoon.
Iin favorable conditions of breeding the total duration of larval life is approximately one month (in fact, the smaller the amount of food and the temperature, the greater the duration of larval life). The flickering occurs on average after 15 days from the beginning of the formation of the cocoon. The metamorphosis takes place about the 5th day after the formation of the cocoon.
